About me
My name is Erik Meesters, 41 years old, married, five children. For 25 years I have worked in the Royal Dutch Navy. As long as I can remember I am interested in motorcycles. Friedel MünchAt the age of eleven I saw a Münch-4 motorcycle for the first time. That was in 1977, when my technical school held an open day. There she was, a grey Münch-4 1200 TTS with a green tank. I never forget that look. This was the start of my fascination for Münch-Motorcycles which is still lasting. Many years later, I was 22 years old, I could realise the dream from my boyhood: I was able to  buy the same motorcycle. Sleepless nights, the unattainable was within reach. Although the motorcycle was not ready to be driven, it did not matter to me. I was the proud owner of a Münch-4.

I noticed that there was little information available on the history of the Münch brand and I collected everything I could lay my hands on. I visited Friedel Münch many times and the idea for a book was slowly developing. It took five years before the concept was ready, but that concept stayed in the drawer for another ten years. A family life and a job took up all time available. In September 2006  I realised that I wanted to finish the book. I started to delve into the history of the Münch and for a few days I lived again in the big Münch-World.
